A fresh tattoo is quite sensitive
Until the tattoo is healed, avoid chlorinated water, salt water and direct sunlight or solarium.
If you walk or lying in the sun, be sure to cover the tattoo up!
Later, when the tattoo is healed, please be aware that the sunlight can bleach it. Therefore always use sunscreen with a high factor when you
are staying in the sun.
Avoid wool clothes on top of the tattoo, while it is healing. The woolly fibres can enter the wound and allow inflammation.
If the tattoo is itching during the healing process, don't scratch directly on the tattoo! You can put some antipruritic lotion on it, to cool it down.
Can a tattoo be undone?
Tattoos can be removed by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist in several ways - the best method is to use laser. Laser light can destroy the pigment
crystals, which represents the tattoo, so the particles are so small that they can be removed by your body's immune cells.
Laser does not work particularly well on the reds, and there may be some color remaining in the skin. Laser treatments may also cause burns
to the skin. Tattoos can also be removed by sanding the skin, but it often leaves ugly scars.
The last option is to surgical operate. This will always leave scars that can be heavily cosmetically disfiguring. So in any case:
You do rarely completely get rid of your tattoo - it will always leave traces. Therefore you should consider it carefully before you let a tattoo artist
put a needle in you.
It is a choice for life!
